Wed 7/30 Shibori Dyeing, 11am
Wednesday - July 30 - 6:00-8:00pm
Ages: 14+
Description: Using templates, clamps, needles and thread and multiple colors of fiber reactive dyes, in this class the students will learn how add color, to dip fabric in multiple colors and create an additional color on fabric.
Materials provided: cotton and silk fabric. Students take home a minimum of two large scarf-
sized dyed pieces. All dyes, templates, clamps, sewing thread and needles will be there for
your use.
Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
Instructor: Kelly Dennís Villalba is a visual artist focused on creating unique sculptural artworks to reimagine the idea of the traditional works. She also enjoys working with analog collage because of how accessible the materials are. She recently moved to Los Angeles from New Jersey, and has lead art studio workshops independently and for art museum audiences geared towards community members and students aged pre-k-adult. Her favorite thing about teaching is being able to share techniques and see students express themselves creatively through the medium. www.kellyvillalba.com and Instagram: @kellybleugreen.
Note: LATE ARRIVALS NOT ADMITTED ONCE CLASS HAS BEGUN
Class Refund Policy: Please email remainders.edu@gmail.com with your name and order number at least 48 hours before the class to receive a refund. A 20% cancellation fee applies.
Because we need time to fill vacant spots, there are no refunds with less than 48 hours notice.
