Description: In this beginner level class we will learn about the Japanese mending art of "Moyozashi Sashiko" by creating two designs on miniature hanafukin cloths. You will be instructed in basic preparations for sashiko including prepping the fabric, stitching a border, and transferring a grid, then guided through the Dan-Tsunagi (Linked Steps) and Seigaiha (Ocean Wave) designs.
Materials Included: Fabric, thread, and all necessary tools.
Instructor: Charlie is an embroidery artist turned YouTuber who explores many forms of creativity, art, and craft on her channel The Stitchery, ranging from sewing and hand embroidery to drawing, furniture-building, and macrame. She's always looking for another skill to try out and another project to dive into!
