Sat 7/26 Sashiko Stitching 2, 3pm
Saturday - July 26 - 3:00-5:00pm
Ages: 14+
Beginners or intermediate in hand sewing or embroidery welcome
Description: As the next step in sashiko stitching, this class will cover hitomezashi (single stitch designs). This technique uses running stitches to create connected designs to create intricate geometric patterns. Students will create a sampler of stitches that can be used to create coasters or textile patches.
Materials Included: Fabric, thread, and all necessary tools.
Instructor: Sarah Bates is a lifelong maker. She learned to sew and knit as a teenager, but has since added jewelry making, embroidery, and sashiko stitching to her makers journey. A life long Californian, she moved to Los Angeles in 2010 and found her first communities among other makers.
Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
Note: LATE ARRIVALS NOT ADMITTED ONCE CLASS HAS BEGUN
Class Refund Policy: Please email remainders.edu@gmail.com with your name and order number at least 48 hours before the class to receive a refund. A 20% cancellation fee applies.
Because we need time to fill vacant spots, there are no refunds with less than 48 hours notice.
