Sat 5/24 Sashiko Stitching, 1pm

$30.00
sold out

Saturday - May 24 - 1:00-3:00pm

Ages: 14+

Beginners or intermediate in hand sewing or embroidery welcome

Description: Sashiko is a form of decorative reinforcement stitching (or functional embroidery) from Japan. Traditional sashiko was used to reinforce points of wear, or to repair worn places or tears with patches. Students will learn a number of stitches and create their own sampler.

Materials Included: A variety of fabrics, threads and all necessary tools.

Instructor: Sarah Bates is a lifelong maker. She learned to sew and knit as a teenager, but has since added jewelry making, embroidery, and sashiko stitching to her makers journey. A life long Californian, she moved to Los Angeles in 2010 and found her first communities among other makers.

Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.

Note: LATE ARRIVALS NOT ADMITTED ONCE CLASS HAS BEGUN

Class Refund Policy: Please email remainders.edu@gmail.com with your name and order number at least 48 hours before the class to receive a refund. A 20% cancellation fee applies.
Because we need time to fill vacant spots, there are no refunds with less than 48 hours notice.
