Description: This is an excellent class for those interested in an introduction to quilting. Using only rulers, scissors, staples, and old pictures, we’ll learn the basics of patchworking through a cutting-edge collage technique. No experience is necessary to design a traditional yet modern photo "quilt block" worthy of any Grandmother's approval.
Materials Included: All necessary tools and materials, but feel free to bring any photos or magazines to cut up.
Instructor: Caldwell Akers is a textile artist and designer specializing in quilted creations and functional outdoor gear. With nearly a decade of experience in show business and documentary production, they bring a unique perspective to creative design and craftsmanship. Based in Eagle Rock, Caldwell has been working this year to refine the technique of collaging with traditional patchwork patterns and is excited to share it with our community.
Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
