Prerequisite: Must have completed at least one session of Long Arm Studio Hours with instruction or attended OUR Long Arm Orientation class. Held every first Wednesday, 6-8pm. Sign up at this link:
Description: During Open Studio Hours you will have use of the Husqvarna Viking MegaQuilter Long Arm machine to work on your own projects. These 2-hour time slots have no instruction, but there is a facilitator on site to help with necessary troubleshooting. Hours vary depending on our calendar, so check back weekly for available time slots.
Adult: 18+
Materials: Long Arm machine, thread, cutting tables, fabric shears, irons, ironing boards, rotary cutters, quilting guides and rulers
Facilitator: Caldwell Akers is a textile artist and designer specializing in quilted creations and functional outdoor gear. With nearly a decade of experience in show business and documentary production, they bring a unique perspective to creative design and craftsmanship. Based in Eagle Rock, Caldwell has been working this year to refine the technique of collaging with traditional patchwork patterns and is excited to share it with our community.
Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
Note: Two-hour slots begin and end on time. There is no staying late, if one arrives late since time slots are back to back.
Refund Policy: Please email toban@remainders.org with your name and order number at least 48 hours before your time, to receive a refund. A 20% cancellation fee applies. Because we need time to fill vacant spots, there are no refunds with less than 48 hours notice.
