Description: In this 2 hour orientation & training learn how to use the Husqvarna Viking MegaQuilter Long Arm machine as a pre-requisite for booking long arm hours. Students will be instructed on workings of the machine and prepared for using it along with a demonstration of the machine and a short period of time for each student to practice as time allows. After this orientation you’ll be ready to book Open Studio Hours with or without instruction on the long arm quilting machine. Those hours are listed separately on the website.
Materials: All needed materials will be provided.
Instructor: Caldwell Akers is a textile artist and designer specializing in quilted creations and functional outdoor gear. With nearly a decade of experience in show business and documentary production, they bring a unique perspective to creative design and craftsmanship. Based in Eagle Rock, Caldwell has been working this year to refine the technique of collaging with traditional patchwork patterns and is excited to share it with our community.
Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
Note: LATE ARRIVALS NOT ADMITTED ONCE CLASS HAS BEGUN
Class Refund Policy: Please email toban@remainders.org with your name and order number at least 48 hours before the class to receive a refund. A 20% cancellation fee applies. Because we need time to fill vacant spots, there are no refunds with less than 48 hours notice.
