Ages: 14+
Description: Learn the basics of the classic linocut printmaking technique. Learn tricks for creating a printable design, transferring the design to the block, carving tools and techniques, and printing using water-soluble ink by hand as well as with a press. Come away with multiple prints of your design which you can use as finished prints or proofs for a continued project to finish at home.
Materials Included: Paper, linoleum blocks, carving tools, brayers, ink, baren/press.
Instructor: Elizabeth Robinson is a multidisciplinary artist working in textiles, printmaking, illustration and photography. She has over 20 years of experience working in art and design fields including costume, puppet and set fabrication, accessories design, tattooing and botanical illustration. Elizabeth recently moved from Portland, Oregon and loves the vibrant arts and culture of Los Angeles. Her work can be found on Instagram: @elizabeth.x.robinson and at www.elizabethxrobinson.com
Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
