Description: This 6-week series offers a gentle, effective movement practice designed for adults of all ages—especially those who sit a lot, feel stiff, or want to move their bodies with more ease and awareness. Classes blend mobility strengthening, somatic movement, and light aerobics to support joint health, posture, circulation, and overall well-being. Each class includes standing, seated, and floor-based options and ends with a calming somatic cool-down.

This series is designed to build week by week, helping participants develop tools they can use beyond class to create a simple, sustainable movement practice at home.

Suggested: Wear comfortable clothes

Instructor: Mataji is a multidisciplinary performer and teaching artist based in Los Angeles, with over 20 years of experience in dance, theater, and creative youth mentorship. A professionally trained dancer and actor, she brings dynamic energy, empathy, and cultural awareness to her work with children, teens, and adults. Her teaching spans ballet, modern, creative movement & Latin dance, as well as spoken word and somatic movement, all rooted in storytelling and self-expression. Mataji has led workshops in schools, community centers, housing programs, primarily i in the after school program circuit across LA, creating inclusive spaces for growth, healing, and joy.

Location: Room 7 dance studio at the back of the building, next to Donations. Entrance is down the driveway and to the left, facing the parking lot.

Class Refund Policy: Please email toban@remainders.org with your name and order number at least 48 hours before the class to receive a refund. A 20% cancellation fee applies.
