Fri 6/5-7/17 6-week Jewelry Series 6pm
Friday - June 5 - July 17 (no class 7/3) - 6:00-8:00pm
Ages: 14+
Description: Students will be introduced to various styles of jewelry and take a look at different ways to rethink their own pieces. Each class will focus on specific methods while the final class will bridge all of the various styles, techniques and designs together so students may showcase what they’ve learned throughout the course. Students are encouraged to explore and push the boundaries of what they know to be ‘jewelry’. We start from the basics, then into the accents of accessories, before moving to the unconventional use of buttons, and to the intricacies of wire wrapping. Students are then challenged to reimagine possibilities by salvaging from vintage or broken pieces, before sharing their style in a final jewelry set.
All are welcome; no experience needed! Expect to learn finger placement when working with beads, wire and different kinds of pliers. Bring your own beads or pieces to work with alongside the various types of materials provided. Jewelry has been a statement and way of expression for centuries; get ready to explore yours!
Materials Included: All necessary tools and materials
Instructor: Haley Gore is a self-taught artist with over a decade of research and experience in various types of jewelry. As someone who enjoys working with her hands, she hopes to inspire others to find a similar joy and pride in the ability to create their art from the materials around them.
Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
Class Refund Policy: Please email remainders.edu@gmail.com with your name and order number at least 48 hours before the class to receive a refund. A 20% cancellation fee applies.
Because we need time to fill vacant spots, there are no refunds with less than 48 hours notice.
