Fri 11/14 Intro to Indigo Dyeing 6pm
Friday - November 14 - 6:00-8:00pm
Ages: 14+
Description: Join this small group class to learn how to create an indigo dye bath with indigo dye powder and natural fabrics. We will supply cotton and silk from our vast inventory to immerse into the bath in an ancient process of permanently dying fabric. Because this is an introductory class, we ask that you do not bring your own items unless they are smaller than 18”x18”.
Materials Included: Indigo dye, natural fabrics like cotton & silk
Instructor: Kelly Dennís Villalba is a visual artist focused on creating unique sculptural artworks to reimagine the idea of the traditional practices. She has lead art studio workshops independently and for art museum audiences geared towards community members and students aged pre-k-adult. Her favorite thing about teaching is being able to share techniques and see students express themselves creatively through the medium. www.kellyvillalba.com and Instagram: @kellybleugreen.
Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
Note: LATE ARRIVALS NOT ADMITTED ONCE CLASS HAS BEGUN
Class Refund Policy: Please email toban@remainders.org with your NAME and ORDER NUMBER at least 48 hours before the class to receive a refund. A 20% cancellation fee applies.
Because we need time to fill vacant spots, there are no refunds with less than 48 hours’ notice.
