Sun 5/18 Intro to Indigo Dyeing 11:00am
Sunday - May 18 - 11:00am-1:00pm
Ages: 14+
Description: Join this small group class to learn how to create an indigo dye bath with indigo dye powder and natural fabrics. Use your own small pieces of fabric or we will supply cotton and silk from our vast inventory to immerse into the bath in an ancient process of permanently dying fabric.
Materials Included: Indigo dye, natural fabrics like cotton & silk
Instructor: Kelly Dennís Villalba is a visual artist focused on creating unique sculptural artworks to reimagine the idea of the traditional coiled basket. She also enjoys working with analog collage because of how accessible the materials are. She recently moved to Los Angeles from New Jersey, and has lead art studio workshops independently and for art museum audiences geared towards community members and students aged pre-k-adult. Her favorite thing about teaching is being able to share techniques and see students express themselves creatively through the medium. www.kellyvillalba.com and Instagram: @kellybleugreen.
Location: Class takes place outside at the rear of the building.
Note: LATE ARRIVALS NOT ADMITTED ONCE CLASS HAS BEGUN
Class Refund Policy: Please email remainders.edu@gmail.com with your NAME and ORDER NUMBER at least 48 hours before the class to receive a refund. A 20% cancellation fee applies.
Because we need time to fill vacant spots, there are no refunds with less than 48 hours’ notice.
