Thu 8/28 Improvisational Quilting 6pm
Thursday - August 28 - 6:00-8:00pm
Ages: 14+
Prerequisite: This class is for those who have taken Beginner Sewing 1 or know how to use a sewing machine.
Description: Color, Composition & Intuition - Students will learn the basics of improvisational quilting using reclaimed fabrics. The focus is on intuitive design—selecting colors, composing without a pattern, and assembling quilt blocks that are spontaneous and unique.
Materials Included: Sewing machines, fabrics and all necessary tools and materials
Instructor: Shaadee Mae Ighanian is a textile artist with a background in apparel design and natural dyeing. She loves sharing the magic of turning old textiles into something beautiful and meaningful while also helping students explore their creativity using reclaimed fabrics and sustainable practices. Her classes emphasize not only the technical skills of quilting and design but also the cultural and personal narratives stitched into every piece. Through her work, she inspires others to see the beauty in reuse, the value in handcraft, and the power of quilts to connect us across generations.
Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
Note: LATE ARRIVALS NOT ADMITTED ONCE CLASS HAS BEGUN
Class Refund Policy: Please email remainders.edu@gmail.com with your name and order number at least 48 hours before the class to receive a refund. A 20% cancellation fee applies.
Because we need time to fill vacant spots, there are no refunds with less than 48 hours notice.
