Family Art Project: Families will discover the colorful, abstract artwork of Wassily Kandinsky, a pioneer of abstract art who believed that colors, shapes, and lines could express emotions and even evoke music. Participants will create their own abstract mixed media pieces, using bold colors, geometric shapes, and expressive lines to communicate feelings or respond to a favorite piece of music. This hands-on project encourages creativity, imagination, and an appreciation for one of the founders of modern abstract art.

Materials Included: All necessary tools and materials.

Instructor: Aspen Leavitt (he/him) is a queer and trans artist, poet, and life enthusiast based out of LA. He finds a lot of joy in transforming ordinary materials into art that makes you smile whenever you see it, and believes that art should be in every corner of our lives. Parent Requirements: Upstairs - drop off & sign in all students; pick up and sign out all students; Parents are free to stay for the class to assist your child; parents will be called to pick up their child immediately if there is an attitude or discipline issue.

Location: Upstairs in our Creative Space. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.

Note: LATE ARRIVALS NOT ADMITTED ONCE CLASS HAS BEGUN
