Description: Discover the mesmerizing world of cyanotypes, a historic photographic process that traditionally uses sunlight to create stunning blue-and-white toned prints. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to make cyanotypes from start to finish. You’ll compose botanical or abstract designs, and develop prints using a UV light to replicate natural sunlight indoors. You’ll learn how to photo-sensitize your own paper, color-tone prints, and leave with a collection of beautiful cyanotypes and a take-home kit to continue exploring this solar-powered medium at home.
Materials Included: All necessary tools and materials.
Instructor: Elizabeth Robinson is a multidisciplinary artist working in textiles, printmaking, illustration and photography. She has over 20 years of experience working in art and design fields including costume, puppet and set fabrication, accessories design, tattooing and botanical illustration. Elizabeth recently moved from Portland, Oregon and loves the vibrant arts and culture of Los Angeles. Her work can be found on Instagram: @elizabeth.x.robinson and at www.elizabethxrobinson.com
Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
