Friday - August 7 - 6:00-8:00pm
Ages:14+
Description: Discover the mesmerizing world of cyanotypes, a historic photographic process that traditionally uses sunlight to create stunning blue-and-white toned prints. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to make cyanotypes from start to finish. You’ll compose botanical or abstract designs, and develop prints using a UV light to replicate natural sunlight indoors. You’ll learn how to photo-sensitize your own paper, color-tone prints, and leave with a collection of beautiful cyanotypes and a take-home kit to continue exploring this solar-powered medium at home.
Materials Included: All necessary tools and materials.
Instructor: Jenny Lounibos is a lifelong crafter whose passion is giving new life to unwanted and discarded items. She attributes her ability to find new uses for old things to her mother, a former kindergarten teacher. As the winner of the 2023 Craftcation Iron Crafter competition, she learned that she can create under pressure, but prefers to craft as part of her mindfulness practice. Jenny always strives to create a fun and engaging environment to learn.
Location: Upstairs in our Creative Space. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
Note: LATE ARRIVALS NOT ADMITTED ONCE CLASS HAS BEGUN
Class Refund Policy: Please email toban@remainders.org with your name and order number at least 48 hours before the class to receive a refund. A 20% cancellation fee applies.
Because we need time to fill vacant spots, there are no refunds with less than 48 hours notice.
