Description: Discover the mesmerizing world of cyanotypes, a historic photographic process that traditionally uses sunlight to create stunning blue-and-white toned prints. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to make cyanotypes from start to finish. You’ll compose botanical or abstract designs, and develop prints using a UV light to replicate natural sunlight indoors. You’ll learn how to photo-sensitize your own paper, color-tone prints, and leave with a collection of beautiful cyanotypes and a take-home kit to continue exploring this solar-powered medium at home.

Materials Included: All necessary tools and materials.

Instructor: Alex Carter is a printmaker and artist who enjoys working in multiple media and on a wide range of project types. Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
