Prerequisite: This class is for those who have taken Beginner Sewing 1 or know how to use a sewing machine.

Description: We cover what most machines can do, like stitch variations, stitch length and width, zig zag capabilities, gathering stitch, darning stitch, applying binding and blind hemming. Students will make a sampler of stitches to have for reference and a simple project if time permits.

Materials Included: Sewing machines, fabrics and all necessary tools and materials

Instructor: Amanda has taught middle/ elementary school for over 12 years and discovered garment sewing in 2018 by making a simple woven top and was immediately hooked. Since then, she has learned many more sewing techniques & skills while working toward a goal of crafting a completely handmade wardrobe. Sewing has helped her find more joy and acceptance of my her body, cultivate a sense of environmental stewardship, and develop mindful clothing practices. She hopes to share this feeling of confidence and empowerment with others on their sewing journey. Her approach toward garment sewing is mindful, sustainable, and inclusive of all sized bodies.

Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
