Prerequisite: Must know how to use a sewing machine, or have taken Beginner Sewing 1.

Description: This class is for those who want to continue to develop an in-depth knowledge of how to use a sewing machine and all of the tools associated with machine sewing. We review what most machines can do, like stitch variations, stitch length and width in addition to zig zag capabilities, gathering stitch, darning stitch, applying binding and blind hemming. Students will make a sampler of stitches to have for reference.

Materials Included: Sewing machines, fabrics and all necessary tools and materials

Instructor: Kay Enyart is a Pattern Professor, Pattern Designer and textile consultant with over 30 years of experience. Most recently teaching at The Art Center her past accomplishments include working with Mood Fabrics, The Sewing Arts Center and Perpetual Motion Films. She earned a B.S. at UCLA and attended the Beverly Hills Design Institute. Kay is also an active member of several Museums and Sewing societies around the world.

Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
