Description: Got fabric scraps you don’t know what to do with? Love stitching but want a new, fun project? Join us for a hands-on workshop where we’ll turn colorful fabric bits into a one-of-a-kind beetle brooch! In this class, we’ll embrace slow stitching—a mindful, creative way to hand-sew—while crafting an adorable 3” beetle pin. It’s the perfect blend of upcycling, sewing, and artistic expression! Learn how to choose and combine fabric to create a visually striking beetle; The basics of beetle brooch construction, from shaping to stitching; Tips and tricks for hand-sewing small details with confidence; The joy of upcycling fabric scraps into wearable art.

Materials: All supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own fabric scraps if you have favorites you'd like to use.

Instructor: Jenny Lounibos is a lifelong crafter whose passion is giving new life to unwanted and discarded items. She attributes her ability to find new uses for old things to her mother, a former kindergarten teacher. As the winner of the 2023 Craftcation Iron Crafter competition, she learned that she can create under pressure, but prefers to craft as part of her mindfulness practice. Jenny always strives to create a fun and engaging environment to learn.

Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
