Sat 12/14 Shadow Box Assemblage, 1pm

Ages: All - Children under 8 must attend with an adult as one sign up.
Description: Put together a shadow box inspired by the assemblage art of Joseph Cornell, whose work in his own words evoked “gratitude, acknowledgement & remembrance for something that can so easily get lost.” For this class, we will select and fix in place a mix of found 2-D and 3-D objects into cigar box frames. Create unique and sculptural designs on a variety of wooden boxes using a vast array of beads, jewelry, toys and numerous other repurposed materials. Let your creativity shine!
Materials: All materials provided. Optional: bring 1 to 3 objects that you would consider featuring in your box.
Instructor: Courtney Freemyer is a champion thrifter and crafter who has been involved with Remainders from it’s beginning. She loves to find new ways of repurposing old things, and loves to teach workshops on crafting with repurposed materials.
Location: All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
