Description: Inspired by the Japanese holiday, "Children's Day” on May 5th, this project is inspired by “Koinobori” which symbolizes courage and strength for children. Artists will use recycled egg cartons, paint, and yarn to create your own koi on a string to hang anywhere you please.
Materials Included: All necessary tools and materials.
Instructor: Sarena (she/they) is an artist, yogi, and self-compassion enthusiast! She has a BFA in animation and feels a profound sense of purpose through community-centered initiatives. Her favorite way to explore creativity is through “play” where she tries to create without judgment, expectation, or rigidity. Sarena’s desire is to express herself with love & authenticity and to help others do the same – especially for the Queer and Neurodivergent community, through the wonderful world of art.
